January Recap: My "Month Off" (...That Wasn't Really Off)

January was technically my month off from vending — but if you run a small business, you already know “time off” actually means “time to catch up on everything you’re too busy to do the rest of the year.”

And honestly? It was such a good reset for The Bandwagon Society.

Leveling Up My Online Presence

January was all about doubling down on Instagram. I posted more, experimented more, showed my face more (terrifying but we did it), and the payoff was so worth it:

  • Hit 1,000+ followers (hi new friends!!)

  • Started consistently generating at least one online sale per week

  • Built a stronger rhythm that I’m actually excited to keep going

My goal for 2026? Keep the momentum, keep the reach growing, and keep turning those views into Bandwagon Society fans.

Square Shop Glow-Up

I gave my Square shop some much-needed love:

  • Cleaner layout

  • Updated bundle pricing

  • Easier for customers to browse (and buy 👀)

Little improvements add up — and this round of tweaks made the whole shop feel more “me.”

Behind-the-Scenes Creative Wins

Even during an “off” month, I stayed busy creatively:

  • Completed three commission projects

  • Started planning new products

  • Designed a brand-new artist table setup that works for both cons and markets (my back and my luggage thank me)

And yes, I’ve set a big creative goal for myself this year: At least one new artwork piece every month. Slow and steady fandom wins.

Growing Pains & Growing Dreams

I won’t lie — there were some stressful moments. Running a small business means plenty of late-night spirals, “can I keep this up?” questions, and existential staring at my iPad.

But… I also had so many reminders of why I do this. This is my passion. I would be completely lost without The Bandwagon Society and the community that’s grown around it.

And I know this little business of mine has the potential to be something truly great. It is already great — but there’s always room to grow, evolve, and glow up even more.

Here’s to February & Beyond

January wasn’t restful, but it was foundational. It set the tone for a year of leveling up, creating more art, connecting with more people, and showing up for my small business like never before.

Thanks for cheering me on — I can’t wait for you to see what’s next!
